"Gill Favor" at 34 days
Dam - Roan
Sire - Scooter's Grand Sun
On the morning of March 2, I had been waiting forever on my
cutting AQHA mare "Roan" to foal and she seemed no closer than the previous
3 or 4 days. Sheila had gone to a Richard Shrake clinic, so I decided
to go with Rick Sayre and look at some mares in northern Missouri and then
on to the mule sale in Kahoka, MO. I left around 7:00 AM fully
expecting not to be back before 7:00 or 8:00 in the evening. Steve and
Sherry Gill were to bring their nice AQHA mare down to leave for breeding to
Sunny. Around noon Steve called my cell and asked if I knew I had a new
baby. I didn't and he asked if I wanted the baby and Mom to be
together!! She had evidently shot him under a gate when she had him
and he was up and dried off, but they couldn't get together. No idea
when she had had him. I told Steve it would be a great favor if he
would put them together for me. When I got home they were doing fine
and everyone lived happily ever after.
Steve and Sherry Gill did me a
great favor.............. thus, "Gill Favor" and
besides, I'm a big "Rawhide" fan (those of you as old as me will
understand)

Gill has a huge hip, nice head and neck,
straight legs and a great mind. He is our 5th foal from this mare and
I think he is the nicest of them all. I have to credit that to Sunny. |
